Sunday we went to the National Basilica Shrine of the Immaculate Conception for mass. The Basilica is walking distance from our house.
This is a huge painting of Jesus (maybe mosaic) behind the alter. He looks pretty scary to me. The mass very full of reverence and was longer than an hour. Needless to say this is not my own style of worship. I will keep searching for a Dolores Mission on the East Coast - impossible!
